WHY POSTURE MATTERS FOR ACCOUNTING PROFESSIONALS
Long Hours at a Desk Take a Toll
Accounting professionals can spend hours reviewing returns, reconciling accounts, preparing reports and working at a computer. Over time, that can lead to muscle fatigue, stiffness and poor posture habits that become more noticeable as the day goes on.
Tight Upper Traps
Long hours at a desk can leave the muscles across the tops of the shoulders tense, tired and overworked.
Aching Between the Shoulder Blades
The middle-back muscles can fatigue after hours of working with the arms and attention positioned in front of the body.
Forward Head and Rounded Shoulders
Computer work can gradually pull the head toward the screen while the shoulders drift forward.
Posture That Collapses by Afternoon
Employees may start the day sitting tall, but fatigue can make maintaining good posture increasingly difficult by afternoon.

ABOUT YOUR PRESENTER
Ken Belveal, Exercise Physiologist
For more than 30 years, Ken Belveal has helped people move better by identifying the weak, tight and overworked muscles that can contribute to poor posture, stiffness and discomfort.
His specialty is evaluating how the body moves — not simply telling someone to 'sit up straight.' By looking at movement patterns, Ken helps people understand what their body is doing, why certain areas may be working tooo hard, and what they can do about it.
In this seminar, he brings that same practical approach to the workplace, giving employees simple strategies they can use during the workday without changing clothes, going to a gym or doing a complicated workout.

Practical education. Real movement expertise. No fitness fads.
Sitting Up Straight Is Not a Strength Program.
Posture correctors and braces may pull you back, but they don't build the muscles that hold you there.
They provide temporary positioning.
Braces and posture correctors hold you in place, but the moment they come off, you go right back to slouching.
They don't build strength.
Good posture requires strong middle and upper back muscles — not just pulling your shoulders back.
They create dependency.
Wearing a brace teaches your body to rely on the brace, not on your own muscles.
They can cause problems.
Long-term use can weaken muscles further and may lead to discomfort or poor movement patterns.

Real, lasting posture change comes from strengthening the muscles that support you.
That's the only way to stand tall—on your own.
